Start a new trend and lose weight this holiday season. Join Mountain Trek in November at our FitPath Boot Camp program near Asheville, North Carolina. It’s our same high intensity, hard working hiking program with vibrant colors and fantastic hiking along the US Forest Service trails of the Pisgah and Nantahala Forests.

Our base camp will be the Bent Creek Bed and Breakfast (www.bentcreeknc.com), a short ten minute drive from the Asheville airport. Nestled in the Pisgah Forest, Bent Creek enjoys the quiet and solitude that only a forest setting can offer. Our calorie-controlled spa cuisine is on the menu as well as the full FitPath program. Wake up to early morning yoga, relax in the hot tub after a day on the trails, experience the detox of an infrared sauna, and enjoy the relaxation of a massage to end the day. And it wouldn’t be FitPath if there wasn’t an exercise space nearby to fulfill the evening activity of cardio and strength activities for a complete offering of our comprehensive weight loss program.

Lose weight in Beautiful North CarolinaOur Asheville program is open to a maximum of 10 guests to ensure the comfort and individual support you expect from FitPath. It also keeps our guide to guest ratio low in order to meet different hiking abilities and experience.

Pack your hiking shoes and follow your FitPath to the Carolinas!

Travel:
Unless you have made other arrangements, you will be arriving into Asheville at the Asheville Regional airport. Four major airlines have multiple, daily flights from most major US cities (Continental, US Airways, Delta, Northwest). Driving time to Bent Creek Lodge (www.bentcreeknc.com), from the Asheville airport is 15-20 minutes. Cabs are readily available for the short trip to which is approximately a $30 cab fare. Guests arriving the night before their program date will be directed to find their own accommodations in or near Asheville, perhaps using the hotels that are recommended by Bent Creek, although with the understanding that November is PEAK season in Asheville and that rooms are at a premium. Check in at Bent Creek is 3:00pm, if possible, please arrange your flights for arrival into Asheville to accommodate this.

Spruce and fir dominate the high mountain peaks. There is no true treeline in the North Carolina mountains, but unexplained treeless areas called "balds" appear on certain summits.

The white-tailed deer is the principal big-game animal of North Carolina, and the black bear is a tourist attraction in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The wild boar was introduced to the mountains during the 19th century; beavers have been reintroduced and are now the state's principal furbearers. The largest native carnivore is the bobcat.

Location:
Bent Creek Lodge is a ten-room B&B minutes from downtown Asheville, nestled right up against the Blue Ridge Parkway (this is a National Park, NOT a Freeway) and the North Carolina Arboretum. Asheville is a city of about 85,000 people with a very cosmopolitan feel. It is well known as a both a destination tourist spot and as a location for "a second home." It boasts acclaimed music venues (Rolling Stone Magazine), the Biltmore Estate, architectural tours of the city and some of the nation's finest dining and outdoor recreation.

The area is full of hiking and biking trails in and around the Pisgah National Forest and the Nantahala National Park. The mountains are forested with deciduous trees and wild rhododendrons, hence the colors are stunning in fall which makes it a popular destination during this time.

Lodgings:
The base for our program is the lovely Bent Creek Lodge. Amenities include a yoga hall, client lounge, exercise area with equipment, hot tub, and grounds. A maximum of 10 guests are admissible in our program at any one time. There is wireless internet service provided.

Bent Creek lodge has 10 rooms, all with private baths and tasteful North Carolina themes. The sheets on the beds are cozy, there is a pool table, infrared sauna and six-person hot tub on site. As well, this is an exclusive Mountain Trek venue, so there will never be other guests at the lodge other than ourselves.

Our FitPath program includes an induction diet for weight-loss and meals will be taken as a group. Adherence to our no smoking, no coffee, and no alcohol policy will be required for our guests.

Driving In Asheville:
This is a regular US city, so feel comfortable that whatever arrangements you usually make for car rentals apply in Asheville as well.

Program Information:
Included in your program are private bedrooms and bathrooms, verandas, laundry service, all meals and snacks, use of hiking equipment, 3 massages per week, and use of hot tub, sauna and amenities.
